About Us
MY NAME IS JULIANA RENDA AND I AM THE FOUNDER OF
Peaceful mind project
I am a 21 year old college student trying to make a difference.
On February 18, 2020, tragedy struck my family and changed our lives forever. My Dad lost his battle with mental health due to anxiety and depression and ended his life. He was very out going, energetic, life of the party, and an amazing father, husband, friend, brother and coach. If this could happen to someone like my Dad, then it can happen to anyone. Very few people knew that he was struggling because he never liked to talk about his feelings.
As a survivor of suicide loss, it has become my passion to raise awareness for mental health struggles in children, teens and adults. Through my experience, I have learned that it is just as important to educate others on the prevention side of suicide as well as postvention care when tragedy strikes.
I want to be able to help at least one person or family throughout this journey and that starts with a community of others who are willing to advocate with me. I would love your support in this movement and can’t wait to see everyone wearing the designs that I have created. I appreciate everyone who has shared my story so far and am grateful for your support.
Just remember … Talking About Your Feelings Is Cool!
With Gratitude,
Juliana
A passion is sparked from tragedy
The reason I started this project is because experiencing such a tragic loss at a young age sparked a passion in me to help others. I have come to realize how many people have related to our story, and yet, it is unfortunate that talking about mental health struggles is still not a normal part of our everyday conversations. Life can be busy, overwhelming and stressful, but I believe that everyone deserves to have a peaceful mind. My Dad always threw up a peace sign whenever he would say goodbye. That is why I incorporated the peace sign into the brand and chose the name, Peaceful Mind Project.
Making a Difference
I want everyone who wears a Peaceful Mind Project design to be reminded that they are never alone, there is always someone to talk to, and talking about your feelings is cool! Personally, talking about my feelings has helped me with coping skills and to help me heal from my trauma. The key to a peaceful mind is keeping an open dialogue.
We will be donating 10% of our net profits to organizations that provide education and resources for children’s mental health as well as an organization that supports families and survivors of suicide loss.
